Identity
Affirming Therapy
Jan Griffith, LPC
Have you had difficulty finding a truly affirming therapist?
I have a special interest in being a truly welcoming, affirming, and safe place for all in the LGBTQIA+ community, whether you are navigating coming out, transitioning, relationships (familial, friendship, romantic) or just want to be in a space with a therapist that won’t make your identity pathological.
There’s no right way to BE
I know that to be true after more than 15 years of helping my clients navigate their identities.
Affirming therapy can help with:
Allowing whatever issues you bring to therapy to be the issues, not your therapist’s perceptions of your sexuality and identity
A judgement-free space to explore sexuality and identity without fear of encountering a conversion mindset.
Available for:
Long-term therapy
or
One-Time/Short-Term Therapy Sessions
About Jan
I am progressive in my politics, secular, and I believe that cursing is a valid form of self-expression. Humor is a big part of how I communicate and I believe it can get us through a lot of things.
Despite being a middle-aged white woman who grew up in the south, you will find no bigoted mindset here. I will never pretend to understand the totality of your experience, but I do promise to see you, hear you, and respect you, while being mindful of the systemic, familial, and cultural issues that may be impacting you.
